During your initial one or two meetings with me, I will listen to you describe your current concerns and what led up to them. I will ask you about your background and current life situation, and pay close attention to the immediate issues which brought you to therapy. I”ll want to hear how you hope to benefit from our work together. Once I develop a clinical understanding of your difficulties and their potential causes, I will offer you my recommendations for the best treatment strategy moving forward, and answer any questions you may have.
After you evaluate my recommendations, we will develop a treatment strategy and get to work. This is an exciting phase of treatment where positive change can be expected.
In my therapeutic work, I do not subscribe to a specific, one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Instead, I seek to integrate state-of-the art interventions and scientifically supported approaches from a variety of developmental, insight oriented, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and biological fields. Each patient deserves the optimal treatment plan tailored to their individual needs and life circumstances. As a result, my general therapeutic approach can best be described as integrative or bio-psycho-social.
It is natural to feel apprehensive and uncertain when seeking the right clinician to help you navigate a crisis or longstanding history of difficulties. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email if I can answer your questions or concerns.
Payment is entirely fee for service. Once you have agreed to the hourly rate, I ask that you reimburse me directly with a check or through Venmo. I do not work directly with any insurance companies, however I do provide a monthly invoice with all the information necessary for you to submit to your insurer. Payment is requested at the time of service, unless we have made other arrangements.
In order to cancel a scheduled appointment, I ask for 48 hours advance notice in order for you to avoid charges.
At our initial visit I will provide and ask you to sign a Consent to Treatment Form that also details confidentiality as well as patient rights.
